2022 Results Press Release

At Axe Valley Academy we are delighted with a fantastic set of GCSE results this year. We have had the pleasure of working with an extremely dedicated and resilient year group who have worked tirelessly to ensure they achieved the best grades possible. We would like to congratulate every single student on their individual results.

We are proud of every single student however we would like to celebrate the outstanding performances of Alice Turner and Amber Morgan who both achieved a set of grades that were approximately 2 grades higher than their targets. In addition, Innes Fitzgerald, Florence Rogers, Ellie Carter, Joel Jeffries, and Stephen Johns all achieved some of the highest grades across all subjects with Innes and Florence achieving four 9 grades each. Of particular note, is the number of grade 9s that our students achieved which were above their target grades. For our students to perform above expectations like this makes us incredibly proud.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated staff team who have gone to exceptional levels to support our students, our parents who have unwaveringly supported the school and our incredible Year 11 students. We wish them every success for the future and look forward to seeing their next steps in their educational journey.

Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.

For the 2022 Performance Measures, the government decided to change how these performance measures were calculated and unlike previous years these do not include results students achieved in year 10 which for our students included GCSE English Literature. To allow some level of comparison we have included both the performance measures calculated using the method from the last official calculation (2019 where all our student results would have counted) and the official measures (click on + symbol to show) which exclude our students’ GCSE English Literature results.
